Yearlings Lead the Way

As Ben Nevis Angus celebrated 75 years their signature yearling bulls led the way averaging $21,161 at their recent sale topping twice at $40,000, while in the 18 month old section 45 sold to a top of $36,000 and averaged $20,200.

Overall 76 bulls averaged $20,600 with a complete clearance. The equal top price Bulls included Ben Nevis Stormtrooper by Millah Murrah Paratrooper sold to Booroomooka Angus stud with Ben Nevis Scorcher by Beast Mode (one of 5 flush brothers) selling to Hancock Investments both for $40,000 . Ben Nevis Jean N17 put her best foot forward with her five Beast Mode ET calves in the sale selling for an average of $25,000 including the top price bull.

In all six young sires went to studs including

Ben Nevis Stormtrooper by Millah Murrah Paratrooper to Booroomooka for $40,000

Ben Nevis Stormfront By Te Mania Pythagorus to Coolie Angus for $38,000

Ben Nevis Smokin Joe by GB Fireball to Merit Farms for $35,000

Ben Nevis Spectre by GB Fireball to Rodger Pryce Brooklana for $28,000.

Ben Nevis Strikeforce by MAY Exclusive to Knowla Livestock for $34,000

Ben Nevis Shawshank to Kinarra Angus Stud (Andrew and Trudy Chapman) for $22,000 and

Ben Nevis Sanctum to Alumy Angus Stud (Colin and Lisa Keevers)

Volume buyers were Okavanko Investments securing 6 18 mo bulls for an average of $24,333 and return buyers Karori Pastoral, Walcha securing three bulls, and Allandale Station Oodnadatta as well as Middlebrook Park Tamworth securing two.
