We strongly believe in the power of pedigree and female lines. While we have embraced a world of genomics and objective measurement we have never lost sight of the type of cow that has blessed us with good fortune for over three quarters of a century. These donors are a tribute to my father and an appreciation of everything he taught us- they are our edge.
SHE SELLS OCT 13, 2020 AT OUR MATURE FEMALE DISPERSAL. Excuse the pun but the genes in the Jean family are very strong. L115’s dam is a maternal sister to Jean H215. The most awe inspiring cow to see in the flesh she boasts the best heifer calf of the 2020 Autumn calf drop. Massive capacity with a big rib, top and quarter and a lovely wedge front with overall poise.
Our greatest hopes lie in this fabulous young cow pictured at 2 years. No pressure but she is all Ben Nevis blood and Jean H215’s natural calf. Her first calf was the top heifer calf in the crop which was quickly claimed by Jacko for his 18th birthday present. Uber wedge shaped, thin skinned, proud, thick and a knock out.
Bandetta who descends back to the great Forres Burnette A22 was bred by good friends Neville and Mona Kirkman and is a tribute to them. She is a thumping, easy fleshing matron who is an absolute delight to work with. She is very treasured here and breeds true.
SHE SELLS OCT 13 2020 AT OUR MATURE COW DISPERSAL. Jean H215 is our most special cow who is very much the beating heart of our herd. She is the dam of Newsflash who sold to Bannaby in our 2018 sale for $28,000 and Jean K80 who produced the $32,000 high selling bull from our 2017 Sale Metamorphic. Jean H215 is not a big cow but she packs a hell of a punch on her progeny with her calves nearly equalling her weight every weaning. We are fortunate to have a string of magnificent daughters including M30 and P59 who will follow in her footsteps.
Jean G124 was one of our favourite cows who we sadly lost due to an accident. She was super docile and large framed with a silky skin. In our 2016 sale her son Ben Nevis Loaded Gun by Jack’s Joker sold for $26,000 for stud duties at Cascade Angus, NSW. Luckily we have has 6 ET daughters by the sensational sire Ascot Hallmark that are in the top 1% of the breed for all their indexes and are all destined for the donor pen based on their progenys’ performance. That’s why we believe in the power of female lines.

His first 14 sons averaged $13,000 at the 2020 Banquet sale. K80 is a large framed, deep ribbed cow with a soft silky coat.

SHE SELLS OCT 13, 2020 AT OUR MATURE FEMALE DISPERSAL. Jean G22 is simply a massive tank of a cow. She has performed well in whatever field we place her and with whichever sire we choose. She was the highest growth and IMF in her contemporary and is super docile- she just loves a scratch. Her daughters have all been retained with two as donors and producing our best bull calf in 2018 which was kept for stud.
