With the success of our Poss Total Impact and Remitall Rachis lines, the next logical step was to combine those two complementary types in a Fire-Ice combination.  This would produce a superior animal with the sheer performance and scale of Impact with the easy doing ability and structural integrity of Rachis.

But then Chris Knox alerted me to a bull by Impact out of arguably the top Panda cow in the country by Rachis.  Excited by the prospect of fast tracking our breeding program with the added boost of one of my favourite cow families I was delighted to find that not only did he have four legs, they were in the right spot and he was in fact everything and more that we were looking for.

JSR Jacks Joker J1 is a frame 7, heavy muscled, flat boned young sire with a good square muzzle and a fine silky coat.  He carries his length hip to pin to give himself tremendous balance and is deep through the flank and muscled close to the hock.  The added bonus is temperament- a double whammy of docility from both Rachis and Poss.

We purchased him for $15,000 and expect his first calves this year out of our Infinity and Empire females.  His EBV’s will gain accuracy quickly and we expect him to be moderate birth and high growth, with above breed average fat and IMF based on his existing EBV’s and interim data.  Joker was joined to 60 two year old cows on their first calf as a yearling.  He covered 58 of them in the first 4 weeks.
